본 연구는 태권도 시범문화에 대한 대학생 전공자들의 인식과 경험, 비판적 성찰 및 발전 전략을 심층적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 태권도학과에 재학 중이며, 시범 활동 경험이 풍부한 학부생 12명을 대상으로 반구조화된 개별 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 귀납적 내용분석을 통해 해석되었다. 분석 결과, 태권도 시범은 단순한 기술 시연을 넘어 감정, 서사, 메시지를 전달하는 공연예술적 문화 콘텐츠로 인식되고 있었으며, 공동체성, 인성 수련, 자기 성장의 장으로 기능하고 있음이 확인되었다. 반면, 정형화된 구성, 평가 기준의 협소함, 공연 인프라 부족, 전문성 결여 등 구조적 한계도 공통적으로지적되었다. 이에 따라 시범의 미래 발전을 위한 전략으로는 서사 중심 구성, 디지털 기반 대중화, 예술분야와의 융복합 협업의 필요성이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 태권도 시범을 문화예술 기반 무도교육 콘텐츠로 재정의하는 데 실천적 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
This study aimed to explore the perceptions, lived experiences, critical reflections, and future strategies related to Taekwondo demonstration culture among university students majoring in Taekwondo. A total of twelve students with extensive demonstration experience participated in individual semi-structured interviews, and the data were analyzed using an inductive thematic analysis approach. The findings revealed that Taekwondo demonstrations were perceived not merely as technical performances but as performative cultural contents that convey emotions, narratives, and messages. Participants also recognized the value of demonstrations as a space for collective identity formation, character development, and personal growth. Conversely, several limitations were identified, including standardized structures, narrow evaluation criteria, inadequate stage infrastructure, and lack of professional support systems. As future directions, participants proposed the need for narrative-based composition, digital platform integration, and interdisciplinary collaboration with artistic fields. This study provides practical insights into redefining Taekwondo demonstrations as a culture-based pedagogical model in martial arts education.
