리머의 시너지스틱 접근의 음악과 교육내용 선정에의 시사

리머의 경험중심 음악교육철학을 대표하는 시너지스틱 접근은 동시대 포괄적인 음악교육의 가치를 제안한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 본고의 목적은 음악과 교육내용의 선정에 있어 교육철학적 토대로 작동할 수 있는 리머의 시너지스틱 접근에 대한 이해를 통해 음악과 교육과정의 교육내용 선정에 관한 몇 가지 함의를 도출하기 위함이다. 교육내용 선정 방향에 관한 세부적인 교육목표 진술 및 핵심 교육적 가치의 도출을 통해 진술해 본 음악과 교육내용 선정에 관한 함의는 ‘음악 및 음악적 경험의 맥락성과 보편성의 이해’, ‘느낌의 경험을 통한 자기이해 및 타자 이해’, ‘언어적 앎의 역할 이해’, ‘음악의 포괄적 역할 및 가치 이해’라는 네 가지 틀 안에서 세부적으로 진술되었다. 이러한 논의는 보다 다차원적인 교육의 가치를 논의하도록 요구하는 동시대 교육 흐름 속에서 우리나라 음악교육이 어떠한 방향에 주목할 필요가 있는지에 대한 하나의 제언 역할을 할 수 있다.
Abstract
The synergistic approach representing Bennett Reimer's experience-based music education philosophy is meaningful in that it proposes the contemporary comprehensive music educational values. The purpose of this study is to derive some implications for selecting educational contents in music education curriculum through an understanding of Reimer's synergistic approach. The implications for selecting music education contents as stated through the detailed educational goal statement and the deriving of the core educational values were articulated within the following four frameworks: 'Understanding the contextuality and universality of music and musical experiences,' 'Understanding selfness and otherness through experiences of feeling,' 'Understanding the role of linguistic approach,' and 'Understanding the comprehensive role and value of music.' This discussion can serve as a suggestion regarding what direction Korean music education needs to pay attention to in a contemporary educational flow that requires discussing the multidimensional values of education.
