이 연구의 목적은 9살 이전의 유동적 음악적성을 측정할 수 있는 유아와 초등학교 저학년을 위한 음악적성검사를 개발하는 것이다. 이 연구는 제 3차로 나뉘어 11번의 실험연구가 진행되었다. 이 논문은 제 3차 연구에 대한 보고서이다. 제 3차 연구의 대상 학생은 유치원 취학 전 아동(만5세), 초등학교 1학년 2학년 학생 74개교 139학급 3,856명이었다. 11번의 실험을 걸쳐 확정된 Kids' MAT은 가락과 리듬, 두 검사로 이루어져 있으며 각 검사는 각각 3개의 영역으로 이루어졌다. 가락의 하위 영역은‘동물노래 맞추기,’‘맑은날, 흐린날,’‘호랑이와 친구들의 노래’라는 제목이 붙여졌으며, 리듬의 하위 영역은 ‘동물소리 맞추기,’‘걷기 춤추기,’‘토끼와 친구들의 리듬’라는 제목이 붙여졌다. 문항 수는 가락, 리듬 각 20문항씩 총 40문항이며 실시시간은 약 20분이다. 검사의 신뢰도는 가락이 .83 리듬이 .79로 우리나라 학생들의 만 5세-7세까지의 음악성을 측정하는 도구로 사용될 수 있다.
Abstract
The goal of this research is to develop a music aptitude test that can measure music aptitude of children under age 9. Eleven experiments have been performed in three steps. This paper reports the results of the third step. The subjects of the study are 3,856 children who are kindergarten kids and 1st and 2nd graders (139 classes from 74 schools). From eleven experiments, we have developed Kids' MAT, which consists of rhythm and melody tests. Each test consists of three areas. The three areas of the melody test are named as "Identifying Animal Songs", "Sunny Day, Cloudy Day", "Songs of Tigers and the Friends". The three areas of the rhythm test are named as "Identifying Animal Songs", "Walking, Dancing", "Rhythm of Rabbits and the Friends". The rhythm and melody tests each have d items, and take d minutes to administer. The observations about the test are as follows; (1) The reliability of the test is .83 in melody and .79 in rhythm. It can be used to measure the music aptitude for the children from age 5 to 7. (2) The music aptitude develops as children get older. (3) There is a difference in music aptitude between children from different geographical regions in Korea(p<.01).
