남·북 태권도 통합방안 연구 - 세계태권도연맹(WT)과 국제태권도연맹(ITF) 을 중심으로 -

Abstract

This study considers South and North Taekwondo, which has developed differently over the past 40 years, and suggests integrated measures to overcome it. To this end, we first look into prior research on the integration of taekwondo, and understand the differentiation process of taekwondo through the history of South and North Taekwondo. In particular, we will fundamentally find out how South and North Taekwondo have taken different paths through the origins of Taekwondo, and look at the differences in characteristics today. Since Taekwondo was introduced to North Korea in the 1980s, South and North Taekwondo have grown in conflict and confrontation. In particular, in terms of Taekwondo ideas, management systems, and technical terms, South and North Taekwondo have evolved into different Taekwondo today. However, due to improved inter-Korean relations, Taekwondo exchanges and cooperation played a major role in easing the situation on the Korean Peninsula. In order for South and North Korea Taekwondo, which has repeated conflicts and cooperation, to go on the path of integration in the future, South and North Korea need to make efforts to exchange Taekwondo history and integrate Taekwondo ideas. In addition, joint efforts by the two Koreas to integrate the Taekwondo operating system are needed, and the establishment of a Taekwondo integrated organization should be carried out to promote it.
