Abstract

Based on Lee Strasberg's method acting theory, this study attempted to verify the theoretical knowledge of how method acting can be used in the acting classes where students learn film acting, in practical terms, capture the educational field's concerns about what kind of acting tasks students learn in the class to become familiar with camera acting and improve their acting skills. Lee Strasberg's Method acting is a technique of acting that seeks to achieve a high level of realism and authenticity by requiring the actor to fully embody the character they are portraying. It is based on the System of Russian Konstantin Stanislavski, but Strasberg developed his own unique approach to the technique. Strasberg founded the Actors Studio in New York City in 1947. The Actors Studio quickly became one of the most prestigious acting schools in the world, and it was where many of the most famous Method actors of all time trained, including Marlon Brando, Warren Beatty, Jane Fonda, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Robin Williams and Willem Dafoe. Strasberg's Method Acting has been praised for its ability to produce realistic and believable performances. However, it has also been criticized for being too demanding and for creating unhealthy relationships between actors and directors. One of the key principles of Method acting is that the ac- tor should use their own personal experiences and emotions to connect with the character they are playing. This is done through a variety of exercises, such as sensory memory and affective memory. The Actors Studio is one of the most prestigious acting schools in the world, and it has produced some of the most iconic actors of all time. Strasberg's Method Acting technique is still widely taught and used today by actors at all levels of experience. It is a powerful tool that can help actors create believable and emotionally resonant performances. And the success of method acting by actors from Actors Studio has since become the most basic subject in American acting education. This study aims to examine the educational effects by presenting some examples so that the advantages of these method acting can be actively used in film acting classes.
