영상연기방법론에 대한 재인식 연구 - 메소드 연기를 중심으로 -

영상연기만의 특화된 연기방법론에 대한 심층적 연구가 필요한 시점이지만,기존의 영상연기 방법론들이 매체적인 특성에만 초점을 맞추어 연기의 본질적인 특성에 대해 간과한 부분이 적지 않다. 그런데 최근 들어, 정신생리학이나 인지신경과학 등의 다양한 현대의 과학적 방법과 포스트-포스트모더니즘적 시각에 기반을 둔, 연기에 대한 학술적 재인식 및 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그래서 이러한 포스트-포스트모더니즘 시대의 학문적 흐름에 발맞추어 영상연기방법론에 대한 새로운 고찰을 시도하여 기존의 할리우드 메소드 연기에 대한 오해와 편견을 불식하고 영상연기의 재인식을 논의하고자 하였다. 할리우드 메소드 연기의 대표적인 세 명의 지도자인 리 스트라스버그, 스텔라 애들러, 샌포드마이즈너와 그들의 방법론에 대한 잘못된 인식을 논의하고, 영상연기에서의 배우의 현존을 위한 자기화 과정의 잘못된 이해와 인물창조의 중요성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 영상연기에서 신체적 연기의 중요성과 그를 담보하는 내적 정당성 확보의 필요성에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이를 통해, 영상연기는 연기의스타일이라는 측면에서 매체의 기술적인 요소를 반영한 하나의 독특한 연기 스타일로 발전될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
Abstract
In terms of post-postmodernism, I attempted to find newunderstanding of the existing media acting methodology which focusedon the Method acting because we have to reconsider acting with newscientific ways such as cognitive neuroscience, physiological researchand so on. I analyzed the misunderstandings of three master teachers,Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and Sanford Meisner of the Methodand its prejudice. The misconception of presence through actors’personalization and misunderstandings of m edia actingcharacterization which is based on texts were studied. Finally, Iexamined the absolute needs of inner justification in physical actingwhich existing media acting specialists emphasize. I hope I wouldsupplement the previous Korean media acting theories. From nowon, Korean media acting research has focused on technical aspectsin comparison with theatre acting and has been toddling as aunique acting theory. But I asserted that media acting has to findits own unique acting style in terms of various acting style oftheatre history.
