본 연구는 디지털 금융이 중국 중소기업의 재무 성과에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 이 과정에서 재무 곤경의 매개효과를 종합적으로 분석하였다. 특히 장부가치와 시장가치를 비교하여 디지털 금융의 포괄적인 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 중증 지수망에서 발표한 상해⋅심천 500지수 성분주를 대상으로 다변량 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 디지털 금융의 폭, 심도, 디지털화 정도를 독립변수로 활용했으며, 재무 곤경을 나타내는 SA지수와 O-score지수를 매개변수로 채택하였다. 부채비율, 기업 규모, 현금흐름, 이사회 의장 겸직 여부, 이사회 규모 등을 통제변수로 설정하여 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 디지털 금융은 시장가치로 측정한 기업의 재무 성과에 유의한 긍정적인 영향을 둔 장부가치인 토빈 Q로 측정한 성과에는 유의한 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이 과정에서 SA지수와 O-score지수는 완전한 매개효과를 발휘하며, 디지털 금융이 간접적으로 재무 성과에 영향을 미침을 보였다. 본 연구는 디지털 금융이 재무 성과에 미치는 복합적 영향을 규명하며, 기업이 디지털 금융 도입 시 초기 비용과 부담을 신중히 관리할 필요가 있다. 외부적으로는 재무 유동성을 유지하고 자본 조달을 확대하며, 내부적으로는 재무 건전성을 강화하고 파산 가능성을 줄이는 노력이 중요하다. 이러한 점을 고려함으로써 기업은 디지털 금융의 잠재력을 최대한 활용해 재무 성과를 극대화하고 위험을 최소화할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study explores the impact of digital finance on the financial performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China, with a focus on the mediating role of financial distress. Using multivariate regression analysis on the constituent stocks of the Shanghai and Shenzhen 500 Index, the study measures digital finance through its breadth, depth, and level of digitalization. The findings reveal that digital finance significantly enhances market-based financial performance, with financial distress indicators—SA index and O-score index—exerting a full mediating effect. However, when financial performance is evaluated using book-value measures such as Tobin’s Q, digital finance shows a negative impact, again fully mediated by financial distress. These results suggest that while digital finance offers long-term financial benefits, its initial implementation may impose costs and risks. Thus, effective risk management is crucial to fully leverage the advantages of digital finance in enhancing corporate performance.
