“영성과 신학은 내적으로 깊은 관계 가운데 있다.” “모든 참된 기독교 영성은 그 자체가 삼위일체론적이다.” 이 주장을 전제로 기독교 영성의 삼위일체론적 성격을 확인하는 것이 이 글의 목적이다. 이를 위해 필자가 생각하는 영성에 대한 이해를 제시하고, 기독교 역사를 통해 나타난 신학과 영성의 관계를 살펴본 다음 영성과 신학의 관계에 대해서 논의하였다. 신학은 영성의 근거와 기준과 내용을 제공하며 영성은 신학이 그 참된 대상이 되는 하나님과 살아있는 관계를 유지하도록 돕는다. 그러면 기독교의 핵심적인 신앙을 반영하는 삼위일체론이 기독교 영성 형성에 구체적으로 어떤 영향을 끼치고, 그 결과 기독교 영성은 어떤 특징적인 내용을 보이고, 또 보여야 하는가. 그 문제를 중심으로 기독교 영성의 특징을 정리하였다. 사랑의 사귐 가운데 존재하시는 하나님의 삼위일체적인 삶의 방식은 타자를 허용하고 타자와의 사귐을 가능하게 하는 근거다. 기독교 영성은 삼위일체 하나님의 삶 자체에 근거한다.
Abstract
Theology as an intellectual effort to understand God and spirituality as a practical effort to pursue life based on experiences with God support and complement each other. The relationship of spirituality and theology is inherent and essential. The doctrine of trinity constitutes the heart and soul of Christian spirituality. "All authentic Christian spirituality is ipso facto Trinitarian." Christian spirituality is the way of whole life resulting from our participation in the life of the Triune God. The triune God is the paradigm of all human relationships. The divine Persons exist in a relationship of diversity, equality, mutuality, uniqueness, and interdependence. From the viewpoint of the doctrine of trinity, Christian spirituality has the following characteristics. Christian spirituality is a life oriented to God, the source and the purpose of life. Christian spirituality is to establish relationships between man, God and the world in various dimensions. Not only is Christian spirituality related to man's internal dimension but also includes all dimensions from individual life to communal life such as society, politics and economy. Christian spirituality is fully exhibited when praising and glorifying God.
