초록
Nowadays, matter of violence is considered as an ethical problem that ranges from individual existence to social structure and global relations. Violence exists as physical struggle, linguistic dispute, social conflicts and local wars between the two or more individuals, groups, and nations. It means that the violence is not only physical injury or mental harm to an individual, but also lawful punishment or systematic control of social structure. Violence is considered as the phenomenon of destruction of personal mutuality and unbalance of power relation. Ultimately, violence is the question of ethical affair to address personal or social relationship, not the philosophical ontology or sociological structuralism. In this thesis, I criticize that traditional Christian Ethics has dealt with the violence problem in view of value-oriented, one-sided, and ideological perspective. I term this ethical attitude an 'Announcement Ethics'. It is not 'Ethics for Others' but 'Other Making Ethics', not 'Responsible Ethics' but 'Disinterested Ethics', not 'Internal Ethics' but 'External Ethics'. Announcement Ethics basically results from the responsive attitude after violent situation, so have no ability to solve the problem of violent reality. So I focus on the violence mechanism. I try to consider Genocide in terms of violence mechanism. From these analysis, I suggest the new paradigm of Christian Ethics on violence that is not argumental, value-oriented, oversimplified, and ideological, but objective, value-free, multiplied, and post-ideological point of view. So I try to investigate the violence mechanism itself that reflects the operative principle and intimate structure of the power. It will be very helpful to understand the violence on the whole. It is so called 'Christian Discourse Ethics.' In conclusion, I propose "formation of various discourses of Christian Ethics toward the various phenomena of violences." I suggest the three categories of Christian Discourse Ethics, that is, 'Prevention Discourse Ethics' to Pre-violence mechanism, 'Accusation Discourse Ethics' to Violence mechanism, and 'Liberation Discourse Ethics' to Post-violence mechanism. In the Preventive Ethics, I present 'Ethics of Perception', 'Ethics of Sensitivity', and 'Ethics of Discernment.' Accusation Ethics includes 'Ethics of Charging', 'Ethics of Compensation', and 'Ethics of Public Apology'. Finally, Liberation Ethics has 'Ethics of Truth Investigation', 'Ethics of Justice', and 'Ethics of Healing & Forgiving'. Therefore, I suggest that the cycle of violence(repetition, reproduction and expansion of violence) mechanism should be broken up.
