반 후이스틴의 후기 토대주의적 신학 방법론 ― 토대주의와 반 토대주의를 넘어

다문화 사회로 접어들면서 여러 가지 다양한 사회적인 갈등이 나타나고 있는 우리 한국 사회가 한국의 신학에 가장 긴급하게 요청하는 것이 바로 다양성과 차이를 인정하면서도 사회를 조화롭게 통일시킬 대화적 합리성이다. 횡단적인 합리성으로서의 후기 토대주의는 바로 우리 시대에 가장 필요한 대화적 합리성을 장려하기에 보편적인 근대성과 상대적인 탈근대성의 감성을 비판적으로 중재해야만 하는 시대의 과제에 직면한 우리 한국의 기독교 신학이 반드시 적극적으로 수용해만 하는 합리성의 형식이다. 이 논문은 토대주의와 반토대주의를 비판적으로 중재하여 횡단적인 합리성을 구축하려는 웬츨 반 후이스틴(J. Wentzel vanHuyssteen)의 후기 토대주의적 신학 방법론을 다각도로 분석함으로써 후기 토대주의적인 합리성이 우리 한국의 신학에 뿌리내리는 데 기여할 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims at searching for the methodology of theology going beyond modern foundationalism and postmodern antifoundationalism and requiring that the Korean theology should accept the postfoundational methodology of theology through J. Wentzel van Huyssteen’s transversal theology. First of all, this study tries to explain epistemological traits of foundationalism and antifoundationalism concretely and their limitations, and then to introduce the transversal postfoundationalism through the philosophy of Calvin Schrag and Wolfgang Welsch. After this analysis, this study deals with the theological methodology of van Huyssteen which is based upon the rationality of postfoundationalism, and suggests epistemological requirements that are necessary for Korean theology.
