초록

Background: Hysterectomy is a common gynecological surgery for women. Urinary disorder is one of the most frequent complications following hysterectomy, often resulting from changes in the pelvic anatomy and decreased bladder support. This study aimed to develop a simulation-based educational program to improve nursing competencies in the assessment, identification, and management of urinary disorder after hysterectomy. Methods: An initial draft of the scenario based on clinical experience was created and it was finalized through consultations with clinical experts and a nursing professor. Results: This program was developed as a scenario-based simulation that operates for 25 minutes to provide nursing education regarding patients experiencing urinary disorder after hysterectomy. Conclusion: The results of this study contribute to improving nursing students’ competency in caring for urinary disorders after hysterectomy. This scenario-based simulation can complement the limited opportunities nursing students have to provide care to patients during clinical practice.
