Abstract

Purpose: This study intends to identify factors that affect the human rights attitudes of students in the college of education and use them as basic data for developing and cultivating students' human rights attitudes. Methods: This study used a self-report questionnaire for 202 four-year college of education students in J-do as a descriptive survey study. For data analysis, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Scheffe's test, and multiple logical regression were performed with the statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 15.0. Results: In the verification of the difference in human rights attitudes according to general characteristics, there were significant differences in the level of the home economy, the necessity of human rights of students in education colleges, and the relationship between human rights and students in education colleges. A result of multiple regression analysis, only human rights awareness had a significant effect on human rights attitudes (β=.261, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, It is necessary to strengthen human rights education and develop human rights-related subjects so that the students who need to educate students as future teachers can develop the right awareness of human rights and increase their human rights attitudes.
