Abstract
This study aims to analyze the climate and environment-related contents of the UNESCO 2050 and 2025 Neulbom Schoolprograms using text mining techniques to draw implications for the future direction of education. To this end, keywords were extracted from the original texts of the two programs and the relationship between the keywords was identified through frequency ofoccurrence and centrality analysis. The analysis showed that keywords such as ‘environment’, ‘education’, ‘earth’, and ‘climate’were centralized in UNESCO 2050, which is interpreted to mean a value-centered reorganization of education for climate crisisresponse and sustainable living. On the other hand, keywords such as ‘nature,’ ‘activity,‘ ‘life,’ and ‘practice’ were found in the 2025 Neulbom School program, indicating a focus on learner engagement and experience-based educational activities that are close tolife. In a cross-analysis of the two sources, keywords such as “environment,” “ecology,” “earth,” and “sustainability” are common, suggesting the importance of educational emphasis on ecological sensitivity and sustainable living. In particular, we found that the“social transformation through education” emphasized by UNESCO 2050 is connected to the “experience-based ecological education practice” of the Neulbom School program, and together they form the direction of future-oriented educational practice. Throughthis analysis, we make policy and educational recommendations that climate and environmental education in school education needsto go beyond declarations and be practiced through experience and participation, and that this requires organic linkages betweenschool, community, and policy levels.
