4차 산업혁명과 비대면 시대의 도래와 함께 메타버스는 교육, 예술, 엔터테인먼트, 산업 등 다양한 분야에서 새로운 디지털 공간으로 부상하고 있다. 최근 메타버스 플랫폼은 가상증강현실 기술이 융합되면서 몰입 경험을 제공할 뿐 아니라 생성형 AI 기술을 접목하고 있다. 생성형 AI는 텍스트, 이미지, 음성, 영상 등 다양한 콘텐츠를 자동으로 생성할 수 있어 메타버스 내 사용 자 경험을 풍부하게 만드는 데 기여하고 있다. 그러나 생성형 AI가 생성한 콘텐츠의 상당수가 기존 저작물의 학습을 바탕으로 이루어지는 만큼, 저작권을 비롯한 지식재산권 이슈는 점점 더 복잡하고 민감한 문제로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구에서는 메타버 스 환경에서 생성형 AI를 적용한 사례를 통해 지식재산권 문제를 고찰하고, 정책적, 기술적 그리고 교육적 관점에서 그 해결방 안을 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution and the era of non-face-to-face interaction, the Metaverse is emerging as a newdigital space in various fields such as education, art, entertainment, and industry. Recently, the Metaverse platform is not onlyproviding immersive experiences by converging virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, but also incorporating generative AI technology. Generative AI can automatically generate various contents such as text, images, voices, and videos,contributing to enriching user experiences within the Metaverse. However, since a significant portion of the contents generated bygenerative AI are based on learning from existing works, intellectual property rights issues including copyright are becoming increasingly complex and sensitive. In this study, we examine intellectual property rights issues through cases of applying generativeAI in the Metaverse environment and propose solutions from policy, technology, and educational perspectives.
