본 연구의 목적은 현장 복귀한 공상 경찰공무원의 공상 체험에 관한 의미와 본질을 밝히고자 함이다. 심층면접은 현장 복귀한 공상 경험 경찰공무원 10명의 참여로 이루어졌다. 면담자료는 현상학적 연구방법 중 Giorgi를 이용하여 추상화하였다. 분석결과 26개의 주제와 8개의 중심의미가 도출되었다. 8개의 중심의미는 ‘동료에게 미안하면서도 서운한 마음과 고마운 마음이 공존함’, ‘몸이 불편한 상태에서 업무적 부담감과 심리적 우울감에 시달림’, ‘수시로 트라우마가 엄습함’, ‘현장 여건상, 공상을 입어도 공가를 사용하기 어려움’, ‘치료의 고통과 경제적 손실, 이중고에 따른 제도적 개선이 절실함’, ‘순간 순간 가족이 떠오르며 겪어냄’, ‘그나마 다행이라는 마음으로 치료를 받으며 일상으로의 복귀를 염원함’, ‘아프지말자, 다치자 말자는 생각이 듦’으로 나타났다. 이에 따른 현장 복귀한 공상 경찰공무원의 공상 체험에 대한 의미와 본질은 ‘신체적·정서적·제도적 열악함을 겪고 있으나 그나마 다행이라는 마음으로 감내하며 위기상황으로부터 스스로를 지키기 위해 힘씀’으로 도출하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 공상자 개인의 회복 의지를 넘어 공공의 치료적 정서지원 시스템 도입 방안을 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the meaning and the essence of the experience of resumed police officers who had been injured on duty. The in-depth interview took place over an average of 90 minutes with the participation of 10 police officers who resumed from injury during work. Interview data were abstracted by Giorgi method among phenomenological research methods. As a result of the analysis, 26 themes and 8 central meaning were derived. The eight core meaning are as belows: ‘Ambivalent feelings to their colleagues such as sorry, dissappointment and gratitude’, ‘Suffering from workload and psychological depression due to the physical discomfort’, ‘Frequent striking of trauma’, ‘Difficulty in applying for sick leave even when injured on duty’, ‘Policy improvement in need for remedial treatment and economic loss’, ‘Going through this situation with the family in mind’, ‘Hoping for a return to a daily life’, ‘Putting the best priority on their healthiness after injury’. The meaning and the essence of the analysis is as follow: ‘They keep striving for protecting themselves from dangerous situation with a feeling that they are still fortunate even if they are juggling physical, emotional and institutional hardships’. Based on these results, this study suggested a mehtod of a public therapeutic system(emotional support) which can back up one individual’s will to recover.
