택지개발 이주 노인의 정착형태에 따른 우울 및삶의 만족도에 관한 연구: 통합적 연구방법 적용

초록

본 연구는 택지개발에 의해 이주한 노인 411명을 대상으로 우울과 삶의 만족도에 대해 분석하였다. 이 과정에서 노인들은 정착형태에 따라 택지개발 지역에 재정착한 집단, 개발지역 인근에 정착한 집단, 타 지역(시·군)으로 이동한 집단의 3개 집단으로 나누어 분석하였다. 본 연구의 자료를 분석하기 위해 1차적으로 PASW Statistics 18.0을 이용하였고, 이 분석결과에 대해 설명하기 어려운 점이 있어 2차 질적 연구를 통해 추가적인 맥락 정보를 파악하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자들의 우울과 삶의 만족도 수준은 집단별로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 우울은 타 지역(시·군)으로 이동한 집단 그리고 삶의 만족도는 개발지역 인근에 정착한 집단이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 택지개발 지역에 재정착한 집단과 개발지역 인근에 정착한 집단에서는 사회 참여, 대인관계만족도가 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 타 지역(시·군)으로 이동한 집단에서는현 주거지에서의 거주기간이 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한결과, 택지개발 지역에 재정착한 집단에서는 자가(自家) 여부가 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 개발지역 인근에 정착한 집단에서는 부동산 보상 여부가 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 택지개발 지역에재정착한 집단의 전반적인 삶과 타 지역(시·군)으로 이동한 집단의 현 주거지에서의 거주기간 영향력에 대해 보다 정확한 해석을 위해서 통합적 연구방법을 적용하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 기초하여 택지개발에 의해 이주한 노인들의 정착형태에 따라 우울을 감소하고 삶의 만족도를 향상할 수 있는 실질적인 방안을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study reviews the degree of depression and life satisfaction in 411 senior citizens who had to move their residence due to land development in the areas they had originally been living in. The subject group was divided into three categories as follows for analysis: Those who relocated to a newly developed site, those who moved to an area near the newly developed site and those who moved to an entirely new site away from the developed area. The PASW Statistics 18.0 program was used for analysis of the data. Additional contextual information was reviewed through a second qualitative study, due to the difficulties in explaining the analysis findings. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, the level of depression and life satisfaction was shown to be significantly different across different groups. Second, in terms of factors influencing depression, those who relocated to a newly developed site and those who settled near the newly developed site were found to be significantly influenced by social participation, satisfaction with interpersonal relationships. Meanwhile, those who moved away from the newly developed areas were found to be significantly influenced by the time they had been living in the new area thus far. Third, in the group of those who had relocated to the newly developed site, ownership of home was an additional influential factor in determining satisfaction with life, whereas for those who moved to an area near the newly developed site, compensation for their original property was an additional influencing factor. Fourth, in order to try more accurate interpretation about overall quality of life of those who had relocated to newly developed sites and effect of resident period this time in group who moved to an entirely new site away from the developed area, an integrated research methods was applied. Based on these findings, this study suggested practical policy directions that may help decrease depression while increasing life satisfaction in accordance with the settlement type of the elderly who had to move their residence due to land development in their original residence areas.
