Recently, many colleges and universities are trying to send their students to the English speaking countries in order to enhance their communicative abilities. This study aims to find out whether the study abroad program will help students to improve their English abilities. This study explores the experiences of 22 Korean college students participating in an English camp which was held from July 6. 2009 to August 1, 2009 in Shelton College International in Singapore. The results of the study shows that students could have more opportunities to speak English. Students are feeling that their English abilities were improved due to the stay in the ESL circumstances. Their experiences will have a positive effect on the English learning when they are back to Korea. Students could obtain a lot of confidences, resulting in the reduction of the fear of English.
