청소년 성장 영화를 이용한 효과적인 영어지도 방안에 대한 연구

This paper aims to suggest a useful movie-based English teaching-learning model for young English learners in middle school classroom context. The study also aims to examine how movie-based teaching can play a role in fostering four English skills, and what kind of advantages students can get from it. For the teaching material, two edited short scenes of fifteen minute long from Slumdog Millionaire were used for two lesson plan. The first one has its focus on speaking and listening, while the second on writing and reading. Based on several movie-based English teaching model designed by scholars such as Wiliams(1982), Allan(1985) and Bouman(1996), a model English teaching plan for young English learners in classroom context in Korea was proposed. Some pedagogical implications were discussed. Suggestions were made for adopting movie as an effective teaching material in classroom context in Korea.
