해외 한국학 전공자를 위한 지식 사전 편찬 방법론 연구 1 —<한국 근대 간행물 영문 사전>의 거시 구조를 중심으로—

Abstract

In this study, the nature and purpose of the compilation of English Dictionary of Modern Korean Publications, the principles and criteria of the composition of headwords accordingly, the detailed application stage, and the verification process of the list of headwords were examined. First of all, English Dictionary of Modern Korean Publication is a dictionary that briefly describes basic and comprehensive knowledge of publications published from the modern enlightenment period to 1945. It has the nature of an encyclopedia that includes detailed information such as the history of publication, the process of change, composition and content, meaning and value of publications, as well as information on the nature and nature of publications. Above all, it was important to organize a macro-structure focusing on the achievements of modern period publications that were mainly covered in Korean history, Korean press history, and research history by disciplinary. Therefore, in this study, dictionaries and bibliographical introductions were collected and investigated, a list of headwords registered in each dictionary and bibliographical introductions was prepared, and the number of entries was scored overall to prepare a list of candidates for selection. Then, a list of candidate headword was prepared by scoring the numbers recorded in dictionaries, etc. After that, it was scored by checking whether there was any research on academic subjects in the thesis. Then, the final headline list was prepared through the evaluation of experts in the field. Finally, expert consultation was conducted to ensure that the selected headwords were appropriate. In addition, it was confirmed that headwords were included in the index of major textbooks such as textbook compilation data, Korean media history, and modern and contemporary Korean history. In the case of newspapers, 86% of the headwords were identified in the index. In addition, classification information that classifies headwords according to certain categories was introduced. A method was applied to increase the usability of searching for modern publications by giving classification information of three criteria, such as field, period, and type. The results of this study are expected to contribute to establishing principles and preparing specific methods when compiling a dictionary of Korean studies knowledge in the future.
