Abstract

How can an omniscient being prove it’s omniscient and not just delusional? The purpose of this paper is to deal with the concept of ‘omniscience(sarvajña)’ not only Buddhist School but Hindu Orthodox philosophies. In the Upaniṣads, the concept has been demonstrated that because everything has own atman, one can be a omniscience if he/she realizes. In the Yogasūtra, it has that omniscience can be achieved only if one practices yoga on the basis of conversion to and oneness with Īśvara. In the text, it presents the possibility of a united ruler through meditation on the material god as a means of om, while on the other hand it is not the concept of God who creates or controls the world, it is regarded as a personality god as a kind of special puruṣa and equates it with the seed of an integral ruler. In Buddhism, the Buddha is the foundation of right understanding. It is said that the right understanding is based on knowledge with regarding to absence of conceptual construction and non-erroneousness. This knowledge only can be possible into being and vanish in each instant. Thus, the omniscience can be possible only for human beings who have attained the idea of Four Noble Truth, Buddhist Truth. Looking upon this logic the Buddha has been regarded as a yogic perception as the knowledge of omniscience. Buddhism recognizes not only the omniscience of the Buddha, but also the omniscience of human existence. It can be recognized as an integral part of the universe, not because it created the world, but because it is one of the finest beings in the universe in terms of possessing the best ascetic consciousness. The existence of an integral part is not merely a possibility, but rather a demonstration that the yoga practitioner can become a complete one through performance. The Mīmāṃsā school absolutely advocates the Vedas’ authority which is characterized non-humanity and eternality. Therefore, the logic that a particular human being can be perfect in a special way can never be accepted. On the basis of certain gods or human authority except Beta, human beings can never achieve the purpose of harm, and therefore all other school districts' arguments are subject to refutation. It is at the heart of the debate as the difference in methodology between where to put the religious source, which is a source of sacred faith, and the possibility of human being pursued for religious practice. In the Mīmāṃsā school, it claims that the limits of human existence who has no chance for omniscience being. Thus, practical performance is meaningless and nothing more than a matter to be avoided. On the other hand, the positivity of the existence of a human all-in-one ruler is essentially accompanied by the logic of practical performance.
