외국인 유학생 대학 생활 적응 프로그램 연구－신입생 세미나 교육 모듈과 만족도 분석을 중심으로

Abstract

This study aims to examine the university life adaptation program according to the admission of international students to domestic universities, which has almost doubled over the past ten years. The number of international students at domestic universities is rapidly increasing due to the combination of the Wave of Korean Culture, the government led globalization policy, and the sense of crisis in the university itself due to the decrease in the school-age population. However, the reality is that the proper curriculum system to educate such students still has problems. In particular, programs for international students in the first year, such as those pertaining to students adapting to college life and those promoting academic capability, are crucial because the first year determines the success or failure of college life since international students experience unfamiliar cultural environments. Accordingly, this study proposes a module containing the following three themes for the international students' college life adaptation program: the module that introduces various learning resources provided by the university where international students are enrolled and which they can learn how to use more effectively; the module that overcomes and resolves cultural conflicts based on the understanding of university culture including the peculiarities of Korean culture; and the module concerning the methods and examples of report writing using Korean to increase the excellence of university studies. In addition, this study provides a foundation for the advancement of the university life adaptation program for international students by checking and suggesting improvement directions through satisfaction analysis according to the results of providing these educational modules to students.
