경찰공무원의 여가활동이 직무만족과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

경찰조직은 2007년 7월부터「경찰기관 상시근무 공무원의 근무시간 등에 관한 규칙」이 시행되면서 4조 2교대 근무체제를 시작으로 주당 40시간 근무제도가 부분적으로 시작되었다. 비록 지구대에서는 주 40시간 근무제도가 어느 정도 정착되었으나, 파출소 등 경찰조직의 많은 부분에서는 아직까지도 주 40시간 이상의 근무를 하고 있지만, 경찰공무원들의 여가시간이 증대된 것은 사실이다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 경찰공무원의 여가활동이 경찰공무원의 직무만족도와 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는데 있다. 이 연구의 수행을 위해 할당표집으로 290명의 서울지방경찰청 소속의 지구대와 파출소에서 근무하고 있는 경찰공무원을 선정하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여가활동과 직무만족의 관계에 있어서 동호회 모임을 통하는 경우 직무만족 수준이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났고, 참여 목적은 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 신체적, 정신적, 휴식적, 오락적 여가활동의 순으로 직무만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 여가활동과 삶의 질의 관계에서는 동호회 모임을 통하는 경우 삶의 질 수준이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났고, 참여 목적별로는 건강 및 체력 증진을 위해 참여하는 경우가 삶의 질이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유형별로는 신체적, 휴식적, 정신적, 오락적, 지적 활동의 순으로 정적인 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 직무만족과 삶의 질의 관계에서는 직무만족이 삶의 질에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 경찰공무원들의 직무에 대한 만족도가 높을수록 삶의 질이 높아짐을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
From July 2007, Korean Police, based on “Regulation of Full-time Police Officers' Working Hours,” started to implement a 2 of 4 shift-work system which partially made police officers' work hours become 40. Although almost all police officers work more than 40 hours in a week except of officers working in “police patrol unit- JiGuDae,” police officers can use their time to participate in leisure activity. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the effect of police officers' Leisure activity on Job satisfaction and Quality of Life. To achieve this purpose, 290 Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Officers were selected by quota sampling and questionnaires were distributed. The results of this study were as follows. First, police officers who do leisure activity through the club show the highest level of job satisfaction, while there is no statistically significant effects of the purpose of participation in leisure activity on police officers' job satisfaction. In the order of ‘physical’, ‘mental’, ‘restful’, and ‘recreational’ leisure activities, they have significantly positive effects on job satisfaction. Second, in the relationship between leisure activity and quality of life, leisure activity of police officer through the club leads to the highest quality of life in comparison of other types of leisure activity variables. If considering the purposes of participation in leisure activity, it shows the highest quality of life when the purpose of participation is improvement health or fitness. In order of ‘physical’, ‘restful’, ‘mental’, ‘recreational’ and ‘intellectual’ leisure activities, it is found to be statistically positive effects on quality of life. Third, in the relationships between job satisfaction and quality of life, the former has a meaningful positive effect on quality of life. The higher job satisfaction of police officers results in the higher quality of life.
