20세기가 들어서면서, 주로 라틴 교회에 속한 많은 학자들은 그리스 삼위일체론은 신적인 위격들로 시작하는 반면 라틴 삼위일체론은 신적인 본질로 시작하고 그래서 위격들을 구별하는데 실패한다고 주장한다. 그들의 이분법적 사고는 테오도르 드 레뇽(Theodore de Régnon)의 글을 비판적 사고 없이 받아들이고 그것에 영향을 받았 다. 그들의 비판은 아우구스티누스를 표적으로 삼는다. 본 논문의 목 적은 그들의 비판에 반하여 아우구스티누스의 삼위일체 교리를 탐 구하고 변론함으로써 그의 신학에 가해진 오해와 편견을 제거하고 보다 나은 이해를 가져오는데 있다.
Abstract
At the beginning of the 20th century a large of the modern theologians who belongs mainly to the Latin church claim that Greek trinitarianism begins with the divine persons while Latin trinitarianism begins with the divine essence, and fails to differentiate the persons. Their dichotomous thinking is influenced without any critical observation by the writing of Theodore de Régnon. And their criticism targets Augustinus. This article aims to explore and defend Augustinus’ doctrine of Trinity based on his De Trinitate against their criticism so that it may bring better understandings by removal of misconception and prejudice on Augustinus’ theology.
