초록

What is the problem of Korean Protestant Churches? I think it is not the practice nor the life but the theology itself. The Korean churches have a problem not because doing not well every thing but because they don’t have a spirit. So it is necessary to find the problem first in the theology and then try to solve and reform it. Looking at the problem, what we have to consider and emphasize on the theology? This theses examines Ecclesiology, Soteriology and Eschatology that, I think, have immediate answer and solution to the problem of Korean Churches. Taking no account of human beings, Korean Churches aim themselves. They spent their whole effort in pursuit of their own success, glory and flourish. They talk loving human beings but love themselves. The Church is meant to be the loving human beings, not being for itself. Therefore it loves human beings, lives and works for them. The Korean churches must have such identity and true love of human beings. Korean churches’ view of salvation is also an important matter. They are captured in many cases by mammonism or commercialism, so that they give the absolute importance to material and quantitative growth. It means a loss of Church itself. In this situation, the korean christians loss more and more the image of God and their true life. The concept of today’s salvation surely consist freedom from such tendency. Korean Churches must save human lifes than money and material things. They must give up their desire to the worldly and secular values in order to become a salvation, a way out and an alternative of the human life. It means that they also have to re search and find the inner transcendant and inner spirituality. For the Korean Churches, it is time to emphasize on the transcendant and eschatological faith, because they ignore the eternal, ultimate things that pass over the present world. Their closed worldly view demands a rediscovery of the eschatology. The Churches have to escape from the world and must give up all of the worldly things. They must open and participate to the coming Kingdom of God, New Heaven and New Earth. We hope to see a renewal Korean Churches in such eschatological faith and life.
