본 논문의 주된 목적은 이본 레이너(Yvonne Rainer)의 <트리오 A>(Trio A)를 비판적으로 검토함으로써 주체가 미적작품으로 대체된 것처럼 그 작품의 자리에 미적작품으로서 포스트모던댄스가 안착하게 된 과정을 파헤쳐 드러내려는 데 있다. 이로써 탈근대에 선험적 진리 그 자체가 되어버린 미적작품 <트리오 A>와 그것의 구조, 경계, 에르곤, 진리의 논의에는 종말이 선언되고, 이후 마땅히 도래해야 할 주체를 재조명하는 장 또한 마련되기에 이른다. 이제 ‘탈’을 새롭게 ‘탈각’할 주체는 거대한 담론의 주인공, 예술작품이 아니라 그 작품의 실질적 토대인 일상생활을 영위해가는 나, 너, 우리의 몸뚱이, 즉 이 모두를 아우르는 ‘몸-주체’일 것이다.
Abstract
Through a critical examination of Yvonne Rainer's Trio A, this work is designed to illustrate how the subject has been replaced with aesthetic artwork, and in turn, to explore the process through which postmodern dance has taken the place of the aesthetic artwork. The purpose of this theoretical project is not only to prepare a field within which we can sound the death knell of the debate over artwork and their structures, boundaries, ergon, and truth, which have become a priori itself in the postmodern age, but to illuminate a new subject, more appropriate to this age. This subject, liberated from the postmodern is not the hero of grand narratives or theories but the ordinary bodies of you and me.
