Abstract

The purpose of this study is to consider and present the appropriate range of copyright exercises for traditional creative dance in Korea. Traditional creative dance refers to a dance created according to the principles of traditional dance in modern and contemporary times, distinct from the traditional dance formed before the modern era. By synthesizing foreign cases and the situation in the Korean traditional dance world, this study suggests three for the copyright exercise of traditional creative dance. First, the copyright must be exercised in traditional creative dance as well. Second, when copyright is exercised, a culture accompanied by a repetiteur designated by the copyright holder should be established. It should be appropriately determined by dividing it into non-profit performances, profit performances, and performances of national and municipal companies. Third, social contributions such as access to copyright and the range of copyright should be considered when cultural assets are designated in the future.
