Abstract
Educational interest on giftedness has continuously expanding. This trend is not an exception in Korea; recently, a variety of new educational approaches have been tested in arts education, including the music education, for the gifted. The purpose of this study is to provide conceptual model for developing comprehensive curriculum system for enhancing musical giftedness. To propose a curriculum model, literature review, expert consultation and case analysis on musical giftedness and its development process were conducted. To emphasize curriculum relevance to the developmental characteristics of musical talent, this study suggests two types of models for curriculum formation, which are 'Hierarchical System Model and Differentiated Curriculum Constructing Model. which are 'the hierarchical stage mode' and 'the model for differentiating teaching-learning process'. Suggested models can be used as a conceptual frame to develope different kinds of educational system which will be driven from diverse education purposes and context.
