본 연구에서는 AI 시대 사회적 공감 교육의 의미와 필요성에 대해 논하고, AI를 활용한 구체적인 사회적 공감 교육 방안에 대해 모색하고자 하였다. 미래 사회에는 AI가 발달함에 따라 창의성과 전략,감성이 필요한 직업만이 살아남을 가능성이 크다. 이에 따라 당분간 AI가 지니기 힘든 감성은 AI와 차별화되는 인간의 고유한 능력이 될 것이다. 따라서 미래 사회의 주역인 학생들에게 AI와 차별화될 수있는 인간성으로서 감성과 관련된 정서적 능력을 키워줄 필요가 있다. 특히 AI 감성 로봇과 가상공간의 발달은 사람 간의 감정적 소통과 관계 형성을 회피하게 하여 아이들의 공감 능력을 약화시킬 수 있다. 이에 따라 인간 본연의 특성으로서 공감과 소통 능력은 어느 때보다 중요한 인간의 능력으로 부각될 수 있다. 미래 사회의 구성원으로서 학생들이 갖춰야 할 시민적 자질로 공감 능력이 필요한 것이다. 특히 사회적 공감은 개인적 공감을 확장하여 사회문화적 맥락과 거시적 관점에서 당사자를 더욱 폭넓게 이해하는 능력이다. 이러한 사회적 공감 능력은 AI 등장으로 인해 더욱 다양해지고 복잡해진 사회적 문제를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 수 있다. 이에 따라 AI 시대 사회적 공감 교육은 첫째, AI와 차별화되는 인간성으로 감성지능을 발달시킬 수 있으며, 둘째, AI 등장으로 인해 더욱 다양해지고 복잡해진사회적 문제를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 수 있다. 셋째, 사회적 공감은 사회적 문제에 대한 책임감과 시민적 참여를 증진시켜 사회정의에 이를 수 있게 한다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 AI를 교육적 도구로써활용하는 AI 기반 사회적 공감 교육의 방안을 모색하였다. 선행연구의 사회적 공감 학습 모델을 활용하여 구체적인 단계별 사회적 공감 교육의 내용을 제시하였다. 특히 학생들이 다양한 AI 기반 시뮬레이션과 가상현실 체험해본다면 더욱 효과적인 공감 능력 향상이 이루어질 수 있을 것이다. 향후 AI가더욱 발달함에 따라 AI를 활용한 사회적 공감 교육의 방안에 대해 지속적으로 논의할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to discuss the meaning of and the need for social empathy education in the AI eraand seek specific AI-based social empathy education plans. There is a high possibility that only thejobs requiring creativity, strategies and sensitivities would survive in a future society due to theadvancement in AI. This is why there is a need to improve a sensitivity-related emotional ability ofstudents, which is a human nature differentiated from AI, as students are leaders of future society. Especially, the development of AI emotional robot and virtual space can weaken empathy abilities ofchildren by making them avoid emotional communication and relationships between people. Empathyability is a civic attribute that students, as members of future society, must have. In particular,expanding personal empathy, social empathy is an ability to understand others more broadly from asocio-cultural context and macro perspective. This social empathy ability can be helpful inunderstanding more various and complicated social issues caused by the emergence of AI. Therefore,the expected contributions of social empathy education in the AI ara are as follows. First, socialempathy education can develop emotional intelligence as a human nature differentiated from AI. Second, social empathy education can be helpful in understanding more various and complicatedsocial issues caused by the emergence of AI. Third, social empathy can have positive effect onrealization of social justice by increasing responsibility for social issues and civic participation. Basedon this discussion, this study sought social empathy education plans that use AI as an educational tooland devised specific phased social empathy education contents using social empathy learning modelsof the previous studies. As AI is expected to develop more in future, there will be a need to keepdiscussing AI-based social empathy education plans.
