들뢰즈와 가타리의 장소론이 지리교육에 주는 시사점

이 연구는 들뢰즈와 가타리의 장소론이 지리교육에 주는 시사점을 논의하였다. 리좀학의 시각에서장소의 성질을 파악하면서 사건과 이것임, 매끈한 공간, 리토르넬로와 영토성을 장소론의 개념 주제로포착하였다. 장소는 열린 다양체이면서 리좀적 배치의 양상 속에서 일정한 의미를 발생시키고 있다. 즉, 장소는 유일무이함의 측면에서 하나의 사건이고, 동시에 이것임의 장소이다. 학습자들은 사건과이것임의 장소와 경관 이해를 환경문해력 증진 측면에서 도모하면서 좋은 거주자로 성장할 수 있다. 들뢰즈와 가타리의 매끈한 공간은 촉지적 지각이 작동하는 정동의 장소이다. 매끈한 공간에 대한 사유는 수리적 좌표로 작동하는 홈패인 공간 위주의 지리교육에서 벗어나도록 하면서 학습자들에게 보다 풍요로운 지리 체험을 제공할 수 있다. 한편, 들뢰즈와 가타리가 보기에 영역적 배치물로서 리토르넬로는 현실 세계의 영토화와 탈영토화 그리고 재영토화에 관여한다. 리토르넬로의 이행적 성분은 탈영토화를 야기하는데, 영역적 현실의 구도를 다양체의 관계 양상으로 이해할 수 있도록 한다. 그리하여 영토성과 탈영토화에 관한 논의는 국가주의, 배타적 민족주의 교육에서 벗어나 트랜스내셔널 교육의 지침을 확보하도록 한다. 즉, 학습자들이 유동적인 문화지정학 감각 경험을 통해서 유연한 영토 의식을 가지도록 한다. 요컨대, 들뢰즈와 가타리의 장소론은 리좀적 사유에 기초하여 유목적 운동을 행하는 소수자 되기의 전략 수립을 가능하게 하면서 생성의 페다고지를 기획할 수 있도록 한다.
Abstract
This study discussed the implications of Deleuze and Guattari’s theory of place for geography education. The understanding of the nature of a place, drawing on a rhizomatic perspective, events and haecceity, smooth space, ritornello, and territoriality, was captured as the conceptual theme of place theory. Here, a place is an open multiplicity that generates a certain meaning in the aspect of rhizome arrangement. In other words, a place is an event in terms of uniqueness, while at the same time, it is a place of haecceity. Learners can grow into good residents through the promotion of environmental literacy in understanding the place and landscape of events and haecceity. Smooth space forms a place of affect in which haptic perception operates, allowing us to move away from geography education focusing on the striated space that functions with mathematical coordinates. Deleuze and Guattari see the ritornello as a territorial arrangement that is involved in the territorialization, deterritorialization, and reterritorialization of the real world. The transitive element of the ritornello causes deterritorialization, which allows us to understand the structure of territorial reality as a relational aspect of multiplicity. Thus, discussion of territoriality and deterritorialization helps to provide guidelines for transnational education, moving away from an exclusively nationalist education. In other words, learners could develop a flexible territorial consciousness in fluid cultural-geopolitical sensory experiences. As noted, Deleuze and Guattari’s theory of place makes it possible to plan a pedagogy of becoming while establishing a strategy of becoming a minority that carries out nomadic movements, based on rhizomatic thinking.
