한중번역에 나타나는 문장의 대칭과 비대칭 고찰–하근찬의 <수난이대> 중역본을 중심으로
Symmetric and Asymmetric Analysis of Sentences in Korean and Chinese Translations - Focused on Hakunchan’s “Sunanidae”

Translations can be compared to the original on various levels. The purpose of the comparison is to know how faithfully the original text is reflected. This paper focuses on the sentence boundaries of original and inverse sentences in the analysis of Korean literary works (Sunanidae) and Chinese translations. The total number of sentences in each of the original texts and translations is similar. In this situation, we examined how similar the original and the inverse sentences are in sentence units. First, we examined the differences in sentence structure when sentence boundaries are the same. In this paper, we compare the vocabulary that makes up the sentence and examine its cause and effect. The main reason for the difference is the clarification work to help the reader understand. And the translation of the adverbs affecting the style has also become the difference between the reverse and the original. In the case of different sentence boundaries in original and translation, we examined the causes of merging between sentences. The merging of sentences is mainly due to the conjunctions appearing in the translation. Also, the recognition of the situation has caused the merging of sentences. These differences in the translations reflect the translator's understanding of the original text. This comparative analysis makes it possible to compare the differences between the two languages. The analysis results for Korean and Chinese translations can be shared with the analysis results for Chinese-Korean translations. I hope that these studies will continue to help accumulate results and complete translations that more closely match each other's original texts.
