Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between age, gender, perceived social support, and organizational commitment among fitness employees in the United States. A total of 420 employees completed the questionnaires measuring their demographic information and proposed variables. The findings of this study revealed that fitness employees’ gender was positively related to their perceived social support. However, employees’ age was not significantly related to their perceived social support. Finally, perceived social support was found to be positively related to their organizational commitment. The results of this study highlighted the importance of gender differences in the perception of social support among fitness employees.
