현재 신용장은 무역거래대금결제 방식으로 가장 많이 이용되고 있는 방식이다. 하지만 신용장 거래당사자는 신용장 거래를 위해서 많은 서류를 준비해야하기 때문에 복잡하며 그로 인해 신속한 거래가 방해받는 경우가 발생한다. 최근 IT기술의 발전으로 전자서류의 제시가 무역거래에서 차지하는 비중이 높아지면서 신용장 거래에서도 전자서류 제시를 필요로 하는 상황이 진전되었다. 서류심사에서 불일치 처리 빈도가 늘어나고 있어 주요 문제로 등장하는 가운데 신용장 통일규칙의 규정이 현 거래실정에 맞지 않아 전자무역거래 환경을 완벽하게 규정할 수 없게 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 eUCP에 관한 선행연구를 바탕으로 eUCP의 도입배경과 주요내용을 살펴보고, eUCP가 현재 당면하고 있는 문제점과 이를 바탕으로 하여 향후 개선방향에 대해 살펴보는 것이다.
Abstract
A letter of Credit is the best settlement among various means of payments. A Credit plays important in rational and smooth international trade. L/C is usually used in international trade but many people must prepare a lot of documents in order to transact with Credit. So the transactions will be happened to delay in international trade. Recently advance of IT and expansion of internet shows numerous possibilities in the international market. The eUCP is a supplement to the current Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credit(UCP 500), Which governs the use of electronic presentation for electronic transportation documents(For example Bolero Bill of Lading). eUCP is a just supplement to the UCP. When used in conjunction with the UCP and eUCP, will provide the necessary rules for the presentation of the electronic equivalents of paper documents under credit. The purpose of this study is to understand the introduction background of eUCP and to study the problems and revision of eUCP.
