This paper aims to examine how international aid in the 1950s and 1960s influenced the activities of a medical professional, focusing on Korea's first female anatomist, Rha Bok-young. During this period, the historical recognition of female medical professionals active in Korea has been limited. This lack of attention is likely due to the absence of noteworthy research achievements by female medical professionals at the time. Additionally, it may be attributed to the insufficient historical data available for a thorough analysis of their contributions. Nevertheless, it is essential to acknowledge the existence and roles of female medical professionals who were active in Korea during the 1950s and 1960s. It is also important to examine their relationship with aid programs that provided the foundation for them to pursue research. To this end, this paper will explore the support of the China Medical Board for Korea and examine Rha Bok-young's activities under its influence. Through this analysis, the paper will demonstrate that despite the shortage of research resources and institutional support, Rha Bok-young, a female professor with experience studying in the United States, was able to engage in meaningful work.

Abstract
