This paper focuses on the fellowship program among the CMB's various aid programs. The fellowship program was also an opportunity for excellent medical personnel in latecomers to experience advanced education and research environments in the United States. To understand the significance of the CMB fellowship program, the paper first examines how the CMB recognized the need for a future plan as it turned its attention to supporting Asia, and created a specific program. Next, I will then examine the operation of the fellowship program to support the training of medical researchers, showing what characteristics are found in this process and how fellowship beneficiaries in South Korea have worked and grew. It will show that Korean researchers, who were in a medical environment that was insufficient academically and socially after the war, were able to use the fellowship program as an opportunity for growth. This study can also be usefully used as an example of the United States' intention to strengthen the influence of the free camp through support to third countries during the Cold War.
