The purpose of Confucianism is to achieve self-cultivation and apply Confucian political philosophy. It is to make universal morals and ethics in the real world and finally to make the "world of great harmony". However, due to the spread of Western thinking in the 19th century, Confucianism has been regarded as a relic of the era, a conservative and reactionary political ideology, or what feminists call the "patriarchal social order". This article seeks to remove misunderstandings and prejudices against Confucianism and revitalize the discussion of Confucian political ideas. To do so, it shows the specific political and philosophical content of Confucian scholars such as Mencius. Although they live under the control of a feudal monarch, they continue to criticize society. Considering that Confucian thinking of people-centered, and popular emotional and revolutionary thinking are the main contents of democratic political ideology, it should be admitted that Confucian politics are democratic thinking. Of course, we have to absorb the good things of the West, but we don't have to follow a value system centered around Europe, America, and Japan in all respects. It can be said that the possibility of a transition to a real democracy that we urgently need lies in the political ideas of Confucianism. Only by using the people-centered and great weapons of democracy and critically absorbing the ideas of modern Western democracy can we survive.
