초록
The educational structure of applied instruction involves one-on-one teaching which continues to be taught in most music studios or music departments. The instructional strategies between student and teacher may differ from lecture halls with large groups of students. Among the many required instructional strategies, studies have indicated teacher modeling as a supportive component used in this unique individual educational setting. The literature review includes a general overview of one-on-one applied lesson studios and the effectiveness of this method on instruction. The descriptive comparative studies in the literature helped to define and categorize modeling strategies that can be applied in the teaching of general musical instruments and voice. Teacher modeling strategies are discussed in terms of categories of performance modeling, auditory modeling, visual modeling, and performance approximation modeling.
