Abstract
Cultural exchanges among the three kingdoms had been lasted continuously until Silla’s unification of the three kingdoms. It might be done primarily through trades, a kind of economical works. But it might be also proceeded with speed and power throughout the way of conflicts. With contacts of the three kingdoms, more advanced culture was inherited. And with the arrival of Buddhism and residents’ movement among the three kingdoms, they gradually came to organize the same nature of cultural identity. As a result, they were praised as ‘haedongsamguk’(the 3 kingdoms located in the east part of Parhae bay) in the international documents which king Kojong of the 7th century in Tang, China sent to king Uija of 7th century in Paekche.Once I choose, if possible, a particular period when cultural exchanges were doing actively enough to mark an epoch in korean history, I would like to spot the era from the early 5th century to the mid 5th century when Koguryo had political influence on Silla. During that time, Koguryo had its troops send and occupy some part of Silla’s territory and interfered in the problem of succession to the throne. And it’s clear that residents’ movement and cultural exchanges between Paekche and Silla were doing briskly for 100 years of the Silla-Paekche alliance. We can suppose the epoch-making period of cultural exchanges among Koguryo, Paekche, and Silla like this. But we should check more the matter of cultural exchanges between Koguryo and Paekche that always competed with each other even though they honored Tongmeung as their ancestor.
