Huh, Chul-gu(2015), “A Comparative Survey on the Description of Words in School Grammar,” Language & Information Society 26. In this study we compared the contents of the government designated textbook(2002) and the authorized textbooks(2012, 2014). There are no big differences between them. But there are some meaningful differences in defining some important grammar concepts, especially, roots, suffixes, words, simple words, compounds, and derived words. Moreover, the definitions renewed still have some problems, for example, the outworn definition of word, minimum free forms is still used. There are also some meaningful changes and differences between the grammar textbooks, that is, the criteria of classification of the parts of speech, irregular conjugation, and the status of abbreviations, etc. So, the differences or problems of the present textbooks have to be modified or renewed by the discussions among the authors.
