The purpose of this study was to examine the stereotype of Korean Chinese-language learners about China culture and people, the intensity of their stereotype, relationship of their stereotype to their own personal characteristics, and connections between it and the affective elements of Chinese learning. Followings are three main subjects for this study. First, what specific aspects does the Korean Chinese language learners’ stereotype have? Second, how serious is the Korean Chinese language learners’ stereotype? Lastly, does the learner factor’ influence to the Korean Chinese language learners’ stereotype? To answer these questions, Korean Chinese language learners had participated in a survey were conducted based on this survey. In the survey, 26 descriptive words were selected to denote stereotype and they were categorized into 8 sections and simultaneously categorized into two according to how positive or negative the words are. T-test, One-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis were used to analyze the contents and valance of the Korean Chinese language learner’s stereotype and verify the accuracy of those contents and valance. The surveys were intended to find out specific and detailed episodes and understand what influenced to the formation and variation of the stereotype.
