湘南土話 影疑母字 성모의 특성

影母와 疑母는 中古音을 대표하는 『切韻』의 음운체계 내에서 완전히 다른 성모이다. 하지만 현대 漢語方言 에서 影母字와 疑母字의 성모는 운모 조건에 따라 합류되기도 하고, 분리되기도 하면서 매우 복잡하고 다양한형태로 나타난다. 본고에서는 湖南省 남부 지역의 오랜 토속어인 湘南土話의 影疑母字 성모 유형을 분석해 보았다. 필자의 관찰에 의하면 湘南土話 중의 影疑母字 성모는 일반적인 한어 남방방언의 유형과는 일정한 차이가 있다. 이유는 지역에 따라 影疑母字 성모 유형을 하나로 묶을 수 없는 예외적 현상들이 다량 나타나기 때문이다. 湘南土話는 지역 약세방언인데, 湘南土話가 모어인 사람들은 대부분 이중방언 생활을 한다. 모어인 土話 는 집 안 혹은 마을 단위에서만 사용하고, 공적인 자리(직장이나 시장 혹은 공적인 사교의 자리)에서는 대부분지역 통용어인 官話(西南官話 湘南片)를 사용한다. 또한 주변에는 湘방언이나 贛방언 혹은 客家방언을 사용하는 주민들이 같은 지역에서 함께 생활하는 경우가 많다. 따라서 湘南土話는 주변 방언의 영향을 쉽게 받을 수있는 환경에 처해 있다고 볼 수 있다. 필자는 湘南土話 影疑母字 성모의 독특한 특성도 이러한 상황과 무관하지 않을 것이라 판단하였고 주변 방언과의 비교를 통해 湘南土話 影疑母字 성모 특성의 본질을 밝혀 보고자하였다. 비교 분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 湘南土話 影疑母字 성모는 開口呼 운모 앞에서는 客家방언과 유사한 특성을 보이고, 合口呼, 齊齒呼, 撮口呼 운모 앞에서는 湘, 贛방언과 유사한 특성을보인다. 하지만 開口呼 운모 앞에서 일부 影疑母字가 합류되는 경향은 湘, 贛방언과 유사하고, 合口呼 운모 앞에서 일부(혹은 다수의) 影疑母字의 구분이 유지되고 있는 상황은 客家방언과 유사하다고 할 수 있다. 이처럼湘南土話 影疑母字의 성모 특성이 주변 방언과 다른 복잡한 양상으로 나타나는 이유는 湘南土話가 지역 약세방언으로서 오랜 기간 주변 강세방언의 영향을 받은 결과라고 설명될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Ying(影) initial and Yi(疑) initial are completely different initials within the phonological system of 『切韻』, which represents the Mid-ancient Chinese. However, in modern Chinese dialects, the characters of Ying(影) initials and Yi(疑) initials appear in a very complex and diverse form, either merging or separating depending on the conditions of rhyme. In this paper, I analyzed the characters and types of Ying(影) initial and Yi(疑) initial in 湘南土話, a long-standing local dialect in the southern region of Hunan Province. According to my observation, the characters of Ying (影) and Yi(疑) initials in 湘南土話 have certain differences from the general southern dialects. The reason is that, there are a number of exceptional phenomena that cannot be grouped together. 湘 南土話 is a regionally weak dialect, most people whose mother tongue is 湘南土話 live a bilingual life. 湘南土話 is used only within the house or village level, and in public places (workplace, market, or public social setting), the local dialect Guanhua(官話) is mostly used. Also, there are many cases where residents who speak the 湘 dialect, the 贛 dialect, or the 客家 dialect live together in the same area. Therefore, it can be said that 湘南土話 is in an environment where it can be easily influenced by the surrounding dialects. I judged that the unique characteristics of 湘 南土話 Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initials would be relevant to this situation, and I tried to clarify the nature of the characteristics of 湘南土話 Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initials by comparing it with the surrounding dialects. Through comparative analysis, the following conclusions could be drawn. 湘 南土話 Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initials show characteristics similar to the 客家 dialect in front of 開口呼, and similar to the 湘 and 贛 dialects in front of 合口呼, 齊齒呼 and 撮口呼. However, the tendency for some Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initial to be merged in front of the 開口呼 is similar to the 湘 and 贛 dialects, and the situation in which some (or many) Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initials are still separated in front of the 合口呼 is similar to the 客家 dialect. The reason why 湘南土話 Ying(影) and Yi(疑) initials have a complex pattern different from that of the surrounding dialects can be explained as a result of the long period of influence of the neighboring strong dialects as a weak regional dialect.
