초록
In this paper, I tried to analyze employment effect of trade in Korea; the effect of trade to world and trade to China. The Employment effect of trade is analyzed based on two methodologies. One is labor-output ratio analsis. The other is regression analysis between employment and export(import penetration) ratio. Labor-output ratio analysis shows that Korean trade to world created 4.56 million jobs accumulated from 1990 to 2006 in manufacturing industries. Also, it is found that since 1992 trade to China also had positive effect on Korean employment in the industries. The regression analysis shows that there is positive(negative) relationship between export ratio(import penetration ratio) and employment in Korea. It means that higher export ratio is related to more employment in Korea. Also, the analysis shows that employment effect of trade is getting bigger over time. On the other hand, it is found that while for Korean trade to China there is no relationship between export ratio and employment, there is negative relationship between import penetration ratio and employment.
