초록
This research investigates to study the relationship of the number of international meetings among asian major cities such as Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok etc. For this purpose, correlation analysis was conducted among asian top 9 UIA international meeting cities. Research results showed as follows: First, Seoul, Tokyo, Busan and Jeju were all found to be in a growing relationship, but they were all very competitive with Beijing. Second, the top 4 cities in Northeast Asia had nothing to do with each other, but they had a very positive correlation with Seoul, Tokyo, Busan and Jeju. Hong Kong had nothing to do with not only cities in Southeast Asia but also cities in Northeast Asia. Third, Beijing is not only competitive with all of the top cities in Northeast Asia, but also with Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in Southeast Asia. Beijing, not even statistically significant, had a negative correlation with Singapore and Hong Kong. This suggests Beijing is in a very strong rivalry with major cities in Southeast Asia as well as Northeast Asia. This is the first study to analyze the correlation and rivalry of the major Asian cities, and is of great significance in that it has identified how they relate to holding international meetings.
