우리나라 빈곤층 거주지 집중과 분리의 공간적 패턴: 탐색적 공간자료 분석의 활용을 중심으로

본 연구는 지난 5년 간 빈곤층 거주지분리의 공간적 패턴을 탐색적 공간자료 분석을 활용하여 살펴보았다. 빈곤층 비율이 가장 높은 지역은 호남지역이었지만 지난 5년 간 높은 빈곤층 집중 지역들이 부산에 급증하였다. 빈곤층 거주지분리의 경우 가장 거주지분리가 심화된 시군구들 대부분이 도시지역에 집중되어 있었고 그 패턴이 지속되었다. 또한 영･호남권 도시 지역에서의 빈곤층 거주지분리의 수준은 계속 높아져서 주요 광역도시권의 빈곤층거주지 분리가 확산되고 있음을 확인하였다. 빈곤층 비율과 빈곤층 거주지분리는 정적인 공간적 자기상관을 띠어서 두 변수의 값들이 공간적으로 유사한 경향을 띠었다. 또한 빈곤층 비율의 경우 호남과 경북의 상당수 농촌 지역들이 해당 지역과 이웃한 주변 모두 빈곤층 비율이 높은 핫스팟 지역이었다. 반면에 거주지 분리의 경우는 수도권 도심지역의 자치구들과 인접 도시들이 해당 지역과 이웃한 주변 모두 거주지 분리가 높은 핫스팟 지역이었다.
Abstract
This research aims to explore the spatial pattern of economic segregation for the last 5 years by utilizing exploratory spatial data analysis(ESDA). The highest poverty areas in the nation are mainly located in rural areas of Jeolla-do, but many districts in Pusan have changed to high-poverty areas in the last 5 years. Economic segregation appears to be most serious in urban areas and this specific pattern remains constant. In addition, the level of economic segregation in urban areas of Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do has been consistently higher, indicating that economic segregation in major metropolitan areas is geographically spreading. The present study also showed a positive spatial autocorrelation between poverty rate and economic segregation implying similar spatial features between the two variables. Lastly, many rural areas in Jeolla-do and northern Gyeongsang-do are hotspot areas that form a cluster with neighbors showing similar high poverty rate. Meanwhile, some urban districts in the Seoul metropolitan area are also hotspot areas that form a cluster with neighbors having similar high level economic segregation.
