이 연구는 인구 고령화가 근로자들의 임금에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 65세 이상 고령 인구 비율의 지역 및 연도별 변이를 이용해서 고령 인구 비율의 증가가 19-64세 근로자들의 임금에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 고정효과 모형을 이용한 분석 결과 65세 이상 인구 비율이 1% 증가할 때 근로자들의 임금은 0.1453% 감소했다. 인구학적 집단별로 나누어 분석한 결과, 고령 인구 비율의 증가는 남성 근로자보다는 여성 근로자, 저학력 근로자보다는 고학력 근로자, 중장년 근로자보다는 청년 근로자들의 임금에 더 큰 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of population aging on workers’ wages. I examine the impact of an increasing proportion of the population aged 65 and older on the wages of workers aged 19-64, utilizing regional variations in the trends of elderly population ratios across 17 metropolitan and provincial areas. The analysis reveals that a 1% increase in the proportion of the population aged 65 and older is associated with a 0.1453% decrease in workers’ wages. The analysis by demographic groups indicates that the rise in the elderly population ratio has a more pronounced negative impact on the wages of female workers compared to male workers, higher-educated workers compared to lower-educated workers, and younger workers compared to middle-aged and older workers.
