Abstract

This study sets up a purpose of reconstituting the filmic culture in Liberation Era which was ruled out meanwhile by analyzing cinema advertising published in the newspaper of that time. Taking up the main subject, I tried to considerate aspects of the filmic culture of Liberation Era generally if possible. I unfold discussion standing on the basis of the cinema advertising information by establishing details like re-screening of earlier works, management of film theaters, characteristics of screened films, lure strategies of audience in cinema advertising. Liberation Era was the time when the modernization of filmic culture that came true autochthonic growth Japanese Colonial Era was being restored. Also, that time was an important one when Liberation Era’s filmic culture connected to 1950’s one. Meanwhile, studies on the history of Korean film did not treat Liberation Era from the point of view of continuity. In that respect, this study has significance all its own.
