Abstract

In 1924 or so, a communist group grew up, which was active in the eastern part of South Jeolla Province. It was the cell of the domestic division of Korean Bureau, led by Lee Yeong-min. However, when it was organized in Suncheon, there were also Hwayo(Tuesday) Faction and Bukpung(north wind) Faction tendencies in the domestic division. These tendencies were separated in 1924. Then, the both factions insisted communist groups in Suncheon and the surrounding area were of their line. Yet, Kim Gi-su attended as a representative of Suncheon group when the Korean Communist Party(KCP) was formed. And then KCP and Korean Communist Youth Association(KCYA) formed local organizations in the eastern part of South Jeolla Province. But, we can identify through the matters decided in the meetings of organizations of South Jeolla Province and Suncheon cell of KCP and KCYA between May and June, 1926, they didn’t unilaterally realize the order of center, but autonomously selected campaign direction and tasks according to the regional situation. In particular, the organization of South Jeolla Province of KCP condemned factional fight surrounding KCP. And it called for the second party convention to solve the problem. Also, they determined to reject the order of center until the party convention was held.
