이 논문에서 필자는 호네트의 인정이론에 의거하여 분배적 정의의 핵심 내용이 물질적 재화가 아닌 ‘인정’이라는 도덕적 자원의 재분배에 있음을 주장하고자 한다. 개인의 사회적 노동 활동의 목적은 자기보존이 아니라 사회적 존재로서의 자신의 가치를 인정받는 데 있다. 왜냐하면 개인의 사회적 노동의 성과는 타인과 사회 전체의 복지 증진에 기여하기 때문이다. 따라서 개인의 사회적 노동 분업 조직에의 참여와 그의 노동성과에 대한 정당한 재분배는 호네트가 열거한 근대 사회의 3대 인정 영역 중 하나인 사회적 가치평가 영역, 곧 연대성 확장의 도덕적 전제가 된다. 인정이론적 정의 모델은 이처럼 개인의 노동성과에 기반한 업적 평가 외에도 사랑, 권리 동등 대우 등을 정의의 원칙들로 삼는 삼극적 모델이며, 사회는 이러한 다원적 정의 원칙들의 이행으로 사회구성원 각자의 개성과 사회적 포용성의 증대를 뜻하는 도덕적 진보를 달성한다.
Abstract
In this study I try to argue on the basis of A. Honneth’s theory of recognition that one of the main points in distributive justice lies in the redistribution of moral resources of ‘recognition’, not of material goods. The purpose of social labour activities of an individual is not to preserve himself but to win recognition of his own value of social being because his achievement of social labour contributes to the promotion of social well-being for others and the whole of society. So the participation of the individual in the organization of division of social labour and the just redistribution for his achievement of social labour form the moral preconditions for the expansion of the area of social evaluation, solidarity. The recognition-theoretical model of justice is tripolar in making the above mentioned achievements evaluation based on the individual’s labour, as well as love and the equal treatment of rights, the principles of justice. So society makes moral progress aiming at the enhancement of personalization and social inclusion in implementing those plural principles of justice.
