『훈민정음 해례』에 반영된 성리학의 영향 -태극·음양·오행·삼재론을 중심으로-

Abstract

Authors of the Commentaries and the Examples of Hunminjeongeum tried to persuade scholars to accept principles of Korean alphabet. They used the concepts of Neo-Confucianism and I-Ching Studies. Neo-Confucian theories that we can see in that book were the theories of Taiji, Yin and yang, Wu-xing, and Santzai. In addition to these, there are some words and phrases in it from the Book of I-Ching. Almost of them are derived in The Diagram and Explanation of Taiji written by Chou-tunii and Supreme standard and Management of the World written by Shao-wong. Authors of the Commentaries recognized the Taiji as that of chi-oriented approach school because of treating the man’s voice. We could meet many difficulties to understand the meaning and structure of the words in that book because they were not used ever. They had creative mind to apply the Santzai[三才] to making the Korean alphabet. · ㅡl which constitutes the core elements of middle sounds stand each that round heaven, even earth and erect human being. And they explained that the main principle of the Hunminjeongeum is to venerate images and shape of voice organon which was the one of four methods to use the I-Ching, and they made the system of the Korean alphabet and correct sounds.
