『승정원일기(承政院日記)』는 왕명을 출납하던 승정원에서 날마다 취급한 문서와 사건을 기록한 것이다. 본 논문은 승정원에서 그 나름의 기사(記事) 업무를 담당했던 사변가주서가 편찬한 일기의 서지 사항과 사료적 가치를 밝히고 있다. 사변가주서 일기는 기존에 알려진 『승정원일기』에 비해 거의 주목 받지 못했다. 19세기에 작성된 『승정원일기전장책(承政院日記傳掌冊)』를 보면, 여러 종류의 사변가주서 일기의 수량과 편찬연대가 정리되어 있다. 현존 수량은 기존의 『승정원일기』에 비해 적다. 그러나 기존 『승정원일기』가 경종 2년 이후에 편찬된 것만 남아 있는 것에 반해 사변가주서 일기는 인조대에 편찬된 것도 남아 있다. 사변가주서 일기 안에 담겨 있는 내용 역시 다른 승정원의 일기에 담고 있지 않은 범주를 포괄하며, 그 나름의 체계에 따라 정리되어 있다. 사변가주서 일기를 포함하여 승정원이 편찬한 일기의 종류를 다시 범주화 하면 다음과 같다. 상시적 기록 편찬 작성된 일기는 원승정원일기(原承政院日記)로 부를 수 있다. 원승정원일기는 상주서(上注書)와 청주서(廳注書)가 작성한 일기가 경종 2년(1722) 1월~고종 31년(1894) 7월의 분량이 남아 있고, 사변가주서가 작성한 일기는 인조~숙종대에 작성된 국청일기(鞫廳日記) 11책을 포함하여, 고종 27년(1890)의 칙사일기(勅使日記)까지 상당한 수량이 유실된 상태로 남아 있다. 승정원이 폐지된 이후의 비서기관에서 편찬된 승선원일기(承宣院日記) 등 200책은 승정원의 기록 체계에 의해 작성된 기록물이 아니기 때문에 승정원일기의 범중 포함되지 않는다. 다음으로 화재와 분실 등으로 인하여 추후에 개수(改修)하여 보충한 일기가 있는데, 이를 ‘개수본 승정원일기’라 부를 수 있다. 인조 1년 3월(제1책)부터 경종 1년 12월(제535책)까지의 전체 분량과 철종 2년부터 고종 25년까지의 일부 분량이 이에 해당한다. 이밖에 몇 책씩 분실한 사실이 추후에 확인되어 개수하여 보입한 것도 있다.
Abstract
When it comes to Sungjeongwon-ilgi (承政院日記, The Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty), it recorded every documents, which handled by Sungjeongwon(承政院), and cases. This paper will identify comprehensive bibliographies and value of historical materials of Sabyeongajuseo(事變假注書)’s Daily Records(日記) that they published. Sabyeongajuseo-ilgi has attracted little attention than Sungjeongwon-ilgi. According to the Sungjeongwon-ilgi-Jeonjangchek(承政院日記傳掌冊), which composed in 19thcentury, arranged many kind of Sabyeonajuseo-ilgi’s quantity and period that published. Amount of Sabyeonajuseo-ilgi that preserved are fewer than Sungjeongwon-ilgi. The Sungjeongwon-ilgi is just preserved the period of afte r2nd year of Kyungjong, however, Sabyeongajuseo-ilgi is preserved that published during Injo’speriod. The contents of Sabyeongajuseo-ilgi embraced comprehensive parts that are not included in Sungjeongwon- ilgi and it is arranged based on its own structure. Arranging every contents of Ilgi(日記) that published by Sungjeonggwon is as below. Ilgi that recorded permanently could be called Won-Sungjeongwonilgi(原承政院日記, The original-Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty). Kyeongjong (January 1722) through Gojong (July 1894) period’s Won-Sungjeongwonilgi which written by Sang-juseo(上注書) and Cheong-juseo(廳注書) and 11 volume of Injo through Sukjong period’s Gukcheong-ilgi(鞫廳日記) that written by Sabyeonajuseo, and Gojong period (1890)’s Chiksa-ilgi are preserved. Sungseonwon-ilgi and other 200 of records that published by Secretariats after abolished Sungjeongwon are not included in category of Sungseonwon-ilgi because they are not published based on record system of Sungjeongwon. And there are many modified Ilgis because they were burned or lost, they could be called Gyesubon-Sungseonwon-ilgi (The Revised-Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty). Total quantity of Injo (January 1623) through Kyungjong (January 1720) and a part of quantity of Chuljong (1851) through Gojong (1888) can be relevant to this. Above this, there were some of lost collections identified after they found and modified.
