Abstract

Ammonia emission to the atmosphere is an environmental concern because it contributes to eutrophicaton of water body and impair air quality. In Korea, the major source of ammonia emission is livestock agriculture. The purpose of this study was to compile the national ammonia emission inventory. In Hanwoo loose barn, the seasonal difference in ammonia emission was the lowest in winter due to low temperature. there was no significant difference among spring, fall, and summer. The ammonia emission was estimated to 7.605 kg hd-1 yr-1 to those in cow. The seasonal emission patterns in winch-curtain broiler house was similar with cow. The ammonia emission was estimated to 0.191 kg hd-1 yr-1 in winch-curtain broiler house.
